Every arterial road with 3 lanes or more in each direction - the curb lane will be sectioned off by jersey barriers and bus bays will be cut into the curb where they aren't already. Buses in their own dedicated lane with traffic signal priority will move quickly.
On high-volume routes where the road geometry doesn't render full-service BRT feasible, I will pursue traffic signal priority and intersection queue jumps so that bus service moves quicker.
I will also pursue avenues to make transit free; first for seniors and people with disabilities and then for everyone.
Bus service is infrequent - that's why we need to buy more buses and hire more drivers; starting with rehiring the ones who were unjustly terminated over their medical decisions. My goal is 10-minute headways on Lansdowne and Dufferin and 5-minute headways on St Clair.
We need to get flexible - to this end I'd pursue the purchase of 500 new 6-metre minibuses that can service smaller, but vital, routes like Sterling Road that currently lack service.
